[Camino-users] DTI Data Quality and Possible Options (RESTORE)?

Dear All,
Would like to get some opinions and advice from helpful contributors on
this forum regarding the quality of the DTI data that I have been asked to
process. I have attached some screenshots in this post so it illustrates my
question.
1) The datasets seem to have a similar problem which I'm guessing, is due
to susceptibility artefacts. It seems to be a recurrent issue around the
same areas and slices (around x=125-130, y=119-122, z=8-10).
Based on the images, what would be the ideal way forward? Would using the
RESTORE function help in this case?
2) The following parameters were used:
- 3 T Philips scanner
- 15 directions in the same axial plane using single-shot, spin-echo echo
planar imaging (EPI) sequence, *b* value of 0 and 800 s/mm2, TR/TE should
be 3700/56, matrix 128 × 128, slice thickness 3 mm with no gap and FOV of
240 mm2.
Based on the current parameters, is anyone able to provide advice on what
could be altered to improve data quality? I am definitely not an expert
when it comes to the MR physics - though I hope to understand it better.
Could it be due to the 3mm slice thickness and through-slice dephasing?
Best wishes,
Michiko
