[Mrtrix-discussion] Converting DTI-TK images

Hi Manuel,

I don't think that can be done - the tensor tracking algorithm in MRtrix
takes the raw DWI as input, so that it can do interpolation on the raw DW
signals. I'm guessing the tensor images produced by DTI-TK have been
non-linearly registered, so there's no way of using the original DWI. One
potential way around it would be to generate some fake DWI signals from the
DTI-TK output and feed that to streamtrack. Sounds a little too much of a
hack for comfort though, not sure I'd recommend that - mind you, I wouldn't
recommend tensor tracking in the first place either...

Another approach worth exploring would be do the tracking in native space
and warp the tracks to the other space afterwards, using the approach
outlined here:
http://www.brain.org.au/software/mrtrix/faq.html#normalise_tracks
I'm sure that idea could be adapted for DTI-TK too.

Cheers,
Donald
