[Mrtrix-discussion] win64 build

Hi Chris
The current public MRtrix release is really quite ugly to get running on
Windows. Internally we won't be putting in the effort to generate such a
build, as our focus is elsewhere (in fact the Windows build never came from
us to begin with; that was Ben Jeurissen's work). Anyone willing to try
such a compilation is more than welcome to: the most up-to-date source
code<https://code.google.com/p/mrtrix/>is freely available.
I can however report that the internal development branch is now running
natively in Linux, Windows and Mac. I have been through the Windows
configuration / build from source, and it only needs two package downloads
to get the required dependencies. We're hoping for a beta release before or
around ISMRM time.
In the meantime, there's always the Linux virtual machine solution, which
runs faster than the current Windows build anyways.
Cheers
Rob
