Dear friends and colleagues,
We are part of the Organization for Human Brain Mapping<https://www.humanbrainmapping.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=3267&pageid=1> (OHBM) Open Science Special Interest Group<https://ossig.netlify.app/> (OS-SIG). Every year the OS-SIG hosts the Open Science Room (OSR). The OSR organizes events during the main OHBM meeting with a designated space for attendees to discuss open practices within neuroimaging and science more generally.
The main OHBM hybrid meeting and the OSR will take place on June 19th - 23rd 2022. All OSR content and networking opportunities will be broadcasted and hosted on platforms that do not require registration fees, with the aim of improving global accessibility. More information about the OSR is available here<https://ohbm.github.io/osr>.
This year, we wanted to invite the community to help shape our panel discussions! Please let us know here<https://forms.office.com/r/e4UmLWYaT6> by nominating yourself or nominating someone you’d like to hear more from.
Our panel discussion themes are:
*
Theme #1: Challenges of Open Science in Developing Countries
*
Theme #2: Open Publishing
*
Theme #3: Open Code: 6 Myths Debunked
*
Theme #4: Emerging Statistical Perspectives in Promoting Reproducible Research
*
Theme #5: Social Bias in Machine Learning
Please see here<https://1drv.ms/w/s!AnCjvLgKMWp-dvPClaqnxVDOT_4?e=gjkHKt> for more information.
Panel discussions will be live discussions among a small group of panel members, moderated by a host. Once the survey is closed, we will contact nominees with the confirmed speakers to ask if they want to be part of that panel.
Equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) are core values of OSR and we are excited to host a vibrant discussion that includes a wide variety of voices! Thus, we particularly encourage the nomination of individuals from traditionally underrepresented groups in order to enhance their collaborations and contributions to open neuroscience.
If you have any questions/comments/suggestions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us: ohbmopenscience at gmail.com<mailto:ohbmopenscience at gmail.com>
All the best,
Open Science SIG
