Overall Ease vs. Functionality:  4 out of 5
Download/Installation Ease:  5 out of 5
Documentation/Support Quality:  5 out of 5
Ratings/Long-term Prospects Comments:  Straightforward and can render many maps with very little problem. Has a great-looking, high-quality rendering surface that can be manipulated by dragging with the mouse (as well as through manual settings). Settings can also be changed very easily. Seems to be much more computer-resource efficient than earlier members of the Mricron-family. Does not support a variable search depth which may be a surprise for users of Mricron, which did support this.

Overall Ease vs. Functionality:  4 out of 5
Download/Installation Ease:  5 out of 5
Documentation/Support Quality:  2 out of 5
Ratings/Long-term Prospects Comments:  This tool needs documentation! It took me three hours to learn how to draw ROIs, p.s. it is hidden in the preferences box.
Other Comments/Similar Tools:  Sometimes the changes in preferences and how you want displays to appear are not very clear. Laterality display preferences are especially bad. It makes great figures and renderings for papers, if you can figure out how to use it. I like the variaty of stats bar colors.

Review 20 of MRIcron on Oct 18, 2009
Overall Ease vs. Functionality:  3 out of 5
Download/Installation Ease:  4 out of 5
Documentation/Support Quality:  2 out of 5
Ratings/Long-term Prospects Comments:  MRIcron is much more difficult to use than the previous version (MRIcro). The documentation is lacking in many ways. The tool has limited functionality beyond the viewing of images.
