Summary: more information Initialize Phase of ShapeWorksClient appears to have ignored
surface constraint. Points do not lie on the surface of the torii
in the torus example. |
Detailed description |
When running the initialize
phase of ShapeWorksClient on the Torus example, the result is
simply particles spread out in ambient 3D space. They appear to
have uniformly filled the torus volume. Apparently the surface
constraint is being ignored. This behavior seems intermittant

Traced the problem to some
corrupt data. This bug was not a problem in ShapeWorksClient and
should be resolved.

I traced this to a failure in
the ROI stage, which completely fills in the torus images with
foreground pixels. Will have to run this offline on the data to see
what is going on. What is confusing is that this problem appears
intermittent--I have successfully run this stage before through the
ShapeWorksCLient interface

This may be related to the
Filter stage, which seems to have produced bogus results: Distance
transforms seemingly from the edges of the volumes, ignoring the
torus data entirely.
