Calculate SPHARM coefficients of surface mesh
Hello, we are currently analyzing the motional behaviour of cells
at Institut Pasteur, Paris. One approach to describe and compare
them over time is based on spherical harmonics.
After the segmentation step, we have a closed genus-zero surface mesh. Now we are trying to use the "ShapeTools"-implementation to get the SPHARM coefficients. For us it seems to be a long way round to voxelize it and pass it to "GenParaMesh" which extracts the surface again, to get the spherical parametrization. So, is there another possibility to use the implemented sphere-mapping to generate these two files (surface and spherical parametrization)?
It would be great if someone could give us a hint, how we can use the classes implemented in "ShapeTools" to map an arbitrary genus-zero object onto a sphere.
Kind regards, Michael

Thanks, but it has sorted itself out.

RE: Calculate SPHARM coefficients of surface mesh
Hi Michael,
I am doing the motion analysis on cells. I am also at a stage where I have the surface meshes. It is an unncessesary step to voxelize again. How did you solve your problem?
Thanks,
Kishore
