Dataset Use in Non-Segmentation Research
Hello,
I am interested in using some images from the IBSR dataset in my research, which involves producing linguistic descriptions of 2D segmented images. The license (https://www.nitrc.org/projects/ibsr/) says that it is free for non-commercial use, but within the readme for the dataset it indicates that permission should be obtained before publishing any images used. Although my research is not directly related to image segmentation, is it possible for me to use the dataset?
Thanks,
Jesse Francis, MSc Candidate

RE: Dataset Use in Non-Segmentation Research
Hi Jesse,
I'm sure that will be fine. that README file was created when the IBSR was available through a Massachusetts General Hospital server and was under tighter control. Since moving to NITRC, the new license on NITRC prevails.
That sounds like an interesting project!
Best wishes,
Andy.
