Stream OR: Operational ResearchNowadays operational research is one of the most actual and rapidly developing fields of contemporary mathematics. In the modern sense of the term, operational research is an extensive area that corresponds to complex of quantitative methods used for finding and justification of optimal decisions in all spheres of human activity. The stream “Operations Research” introduces students, PhD students and young scientists to the scientific field of Operations Research. This year the stream will include lectures on Financial Mathematics, Optimization and general applications of OR, but special attention will be given to Data Mining. Participants will get an experience of using the basic methods of data mining with help of the special software as well as practical implementation of such methods in social network analysis, crime data analysis, bioinformatics, data farming and Open Source Intelligence. Participation in this stream is the best opportunity for young scientists to learn about the modern achievements of Data Mining and how it can be used in order to solve real world problems. Steam MSD: Mobile Software DevelopmentThe world is getting flatter and more mobile. Desktops increasingly are being replaced by laptops, tablets and smartphones. The stream will provide an exceptional opportunity to get familiar with tools and techniques that will be in high demand in the nearest future. Participants of the stream will become part of an international team that will be working for 2 weeks to create a cross-platform game that can be played the same on iOS or Android devices, smartphones and tablets alike. The stream will consist of lectures from experienced European professional software developers, tutorials and plenty of hands-on activities that will ensure that the participants will learn a lot about professional software development and creating games.
