Purpose: The international workshop Brain Connectivity 2008 will be held in Sydney, June 12th-13th 2008, bringing together scientists from various disciplines including neuroscience, medicine, brain imaging, physics and mathematics. The purpose is to communicate and advance cutting edge advances in understanding human brain function, particularly those functions (such as perception, decision making) that require coordinated activity from multiple brain systems. This popular workshop has previously been held in Düsseldorf, Cambridge, Havana, Cuba, Florida, Sendai and Barcelona. Information on these meetings may be found at http://www.hirnforschung.net/bcw/ Program: Two day conference with four themes – emphasising advances in understanding human brain anatomy, activity, function and pathology. Each speaker will give a 15min presentation and focus on the key concepts, sometimes provocatively, to stimulate discussions. 30 minutes is available to discussion after each presentation. This format has proven to be successful in the last meetings and ensured a maximum of interactions. A plenary session at the end of each of the days is designed to promote further discussion from the audience on key problems, issues and debates that emerged during the presentations. |
