(old questions) - Paired studies
QUESTION: Is it possible to use the SDM software to meta-analyze paired
data? The studies I am including report the coordinates of
regions that show either increases or decreases after treatment.
ANSWER: If you have information about the difference between pre and post scans, then you can use SDM understanding the studies as one-sample studies. Note that you would have only one value per subject (i.e. the difference), and that the paired t-tests conducted in the studies are in fact one-sample t-tests of the differences.
