Convert .nirs from NIRSport to NIRS.mat for spm_fnirs
Hi,

I'm trying to process some .nirs files created by a NIRSport system. I would like to analyze them in spm_fnirs but I'm having trouble getting the .nirs files into the NIRS.mat format. I've loaded an old NIRS.mat file in matlab and primarily determined what information is contained in the P and Y structures but there are a few subfields that I can't figure out. Does anyone know what these subfields are?

P.K.M.th
P.K.M.alpha

Any help is greatly appreciated!

RE: Convert .nirs from NIRSport to NIRS.mat for spm_fnirs
Dear Katie Becker,

P.K.M.th and P.K.M.alpha are parameters of motion artifact removal algorithm (MARA, Scholkmann et al., Physiol Meas 31 (2010) 649-662). Specifically, P.K.M.th is a threshold factor for detecting movement artifact segments, and P.K.M.alpha is a factor for smoothing motion artifact segments. Please see page 10 and 11 of SPM-fNIRS manual for more details.

Best wishes,
