From October 15th, 2018, Nature Publishing Group has updated their instructions to authors to include Research Resource IDs (RRIDs [1]). This is a significant step towards a broader adoption of the #RRID system of citation.

These identifiers are used to specify which research reagents - such as antibodies, cell lines, organisms, and software tools - were used in a particular publication, and therefore help with reproducibility. RRIDs originated from the Resource Identification Initiative [2], supported by among others INCF, NIF [3] and NIH, and have been in use since 2014.
