Notes:
Histolozee currently runs only in Mac OS X 10.7 or later.

HistoloZee requires that slides be either in pyramidal TIFF format or in a slide scanner specific format, such as .svs for Aperio scanners.

To convert a generic image to "pyramidal" TIFF format, you can use ImageMagick. e.g.:
convert INPUT.tif -compress jpeg -quality 90 -define tiff:tile-geometry=256x256 ptif:OUTPUT.tif
