Dear Camino Users,
When simulating particle trajectories using the 'datasynth' command (on the newest version of Camino), I occasionally encounter error messages of the following type:
"Exception in thread "main" misc.LoggedException: unable to correctly amend step in walker update loop. ti=901, i=154137
at simulation.dynamics.Walker.update(Walker.java:221)
at simulation.DiffusionSimulation.runMainLoop(DiffusionSimulation.java:589)
at simulation.DiffusionSimulation. nextVoxel(DiffusionSimulation.java:709)
at apps.SyntheticData.execute(SyntheticData.java:74)
at apps.EntryPoint.main(EntryPoint.java:287)".
I have established that this error may depend on the initial choice of seed passed to datasynth, which determines the starting particle positions. A different choice of seed typically eliminates this error. Unfortunately, I have not been able to determine why some seeds (e.g. starting particle position configurations) yield this error, while others do not. Thus, I have no way of knowing in advance when this error may occur. If anyone has encountered a similar problem, could you please tell me - what is (on a fundamental level) meant by the failure "to correctly amend step" and what solutions may be available?
Thank you very much for your time,
Maria G.
