Dear Camino'ers,
We would like to invite applications for a 3-year postdoc position in
microstructure imaging. The project has received funding from the Novo
Nordisk Foundation under the interdisciplinary synergy program entitled
UHeal “Uncovering Hidden Hearing Loss”.
The aim of UHeal is to design imaging techniques and auditory methods to
detect and diagnose a recently described noise induced hearing loss that
a large part of the population has without really knowing it.
The postdoc project will focus on designing encoding waveforms for
diffusion MRI and will use quantitative MRI acquisitions on a
preclinical Bruker MRI scanner. Combined with biophysical models the
acquisition should ensure contrast mechanisms for unravelling the
underlying cell and axon density of noise induced changes in the inner
ear and its nerve. The acquisition will be applied in animal models and
validations will use histology and ultra-high 3D resolution synchrotron
imaging. Finally, the acquisition must then be adapted to use on
clinical scanners.
The project will be carried out at The Danish Research Centre for
Magnetic Resonance (DRCMR), Copenhagen University Hospital Hvidovre,
Denmark and is a synergistic collaboration with research teams at The
Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and Harvard Medical School.
