Ratings/Long-term Prospects Comments:  I have found Pickatlas very easy to use. There are several different options for making an ROI - you can choose a predefined mask for large areas, like left hemisphere or right hemisphere; a predefined mask for specific regions, like anterior cingulate; a predefined mask for a Brodmann area; or you can make your own ROI in a sphere or cube shape with the diameter of your choosing. Pickatlas then outputs a table telling you the size of the ROI you have chosen and the mean value and the standard deviation for that ROI. I have used Pickatlas to analyze FA, volumetric, fMRI, and perfusion data. It is a convenient tool for group analyses as you can enter a list of subjects at once rather than one at a time. One other nice feature of Pickatlas is that it is quick. The table is generated in a matter of a minute or two.

Ratings/Long-term Prospects Comments:  Overall -- It isn't necessarily a fault of the program, spacial normalization is not perfect. The program has small ROIs and I think it could be risky to use those especially for single subject analyses.  Installation -- totally easy download, directly into the SPM folder
