Hi Sascha,
Sorry about that, you are right that the batch document has not been updated in a long time, thanks for pointing this out. Until it is I am going to remove it to avoid confusion. Exhaustive and always up-to-date documentation about conn_batch functionality can be found by:
a) in CONN gui, select "Help -> Documentation -> Info:Batch processing"
and/or b) from Matlab command-line type "help conn_batch"

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it out myself. I was confused by the batch-manual which is not very exha8ustive, but the batch-description inside the matlab function answered the questions I had.
