I downloaded version 21.a by using:

git clone https://github.com/alfnie/conn

but i get this after trying the new function:

>> conn_createsubroi('/neuroimaging_software/conn_dev/conn/rois/atlas.nii', 'newLeftPreCentral.nii', 5, [1 0 0], 14);
Undefined function or variable 'conn_createsubroi'.

I removed the old path to stable conn (20) and added the path to the development version (21) instead. When I asked mathlab about the version, it looks like it is the new one being called.

>> conn version

ans =

'CONN (21.a)'

am I missing something or did I not install it correctly?
