Dear INDI-users,
We are pleased to announce that the data
collection for the initial
NKI/Rockland sample is completed. We enrolled 250 participants and
were able to
release data for 207 of them (the remaining datasets were held due
to incidental
findings, imaging artifacts, scan sessions terminated due to
participant-related factors, etc.). Nearly all datasets include
both resting
state and DTI scans, as well as extensive phenotyping.
Together with the last datasets we would also
like to bring
your attention to 2 fixes:
1.
An inconsistency was found in the scoring
process for the D-KEFS questionnaire employed by one of the raters.
The raw and
scaled scores for "Category Switching" and "Category Switching
Accuracy" had to be updated for 36 datasets. This scoring update
had negligible
effects on the actual scoring. Correlations between the old and
updated scores
all exceeded .95 (both when assessing the full dataset as well as
only released
participants). All affected participants have been updated in their
respective
releases. The combined.csv file also reflects all correct scores
(this might be
the easiest way to update your data). A separate release only
including updated
participants is available. All releases have been updated
accordingly.
2.
As the sample was intended to be a community
sample, we did not exclude participants that were found to have a
current
DSM-IV diagnosis through semi-structure clinical interview (e.g.,
eating
disorder, cannibas abuse, ADHD, depression). This information was
present in
the INDI-XNAT xml files for each participant, though commonly
missed as the
“All clinical data” search included in the VM XNAT did not display
it.
Similarly, it did not appear in the INDI-Lite distribution, which
was based on
that INDI-XNAT search. A total of 26 out of 207 participants had
one or more
current diagnoses. This information, in addition to lifetime
diagnoses, and BMI
related measurements is now reflected in the phenotypic .csv files
for every
participant (DSM-IV codes were added at the end of the
phenotypic.csv file).
We
apologize that these did not come to our attention sooner, and for
any
inconvenience these updates may cause. The data currently available
should
provide the most thorough possible characterization of the
participants.
Finally, we want to draw your attention to the
fact that the
current NKI/Rockland sample has served as a pilot, for a much
larger sample
that is to come – collection will resume in the very near future
(fall, 2011),
with bigger and better imaging, phenotyping and data-distribution
mechanisms -
details to follow.
Best,
The INDI team
