Ratings/Long-term Prospects Comments:  This is a pretty stable tool and nice for display. I had trouble with the snake tool in earlier versions and have not tried it in a while (lots of crashing and data loss).
Other Comments/Similar Tools:  I would love to see the ability to display crossing slices of the greyscale image with the 3d model... I am modeling white matter tracts and it would be VERY helpful to have this capability which appears in 3DSlicer and BioImage Suite.

Ratings/Long-term Prospects Comments:  Feature Requests -- 64 bit version. Actually theare are limitations in image dimension due to win32 opering system (max 2 MB ram for each process). However for images of the head win32 version is enought.

Ratings/Long-term Prospects Comments:  Overall -- It is easy to use and helpful.  Documentation -- For the snake propogation tool, it's a little hard to know what is going on. It is not clear how the combined force of curvature and advection is working from the figure provided.  Feature Requests -- Some sort of built-in segmentation algorithm (GM, WM, CSF) would be nice.
Other Comments/Similar Tools:  Similar Tool/Resource -- I used its predecessor, IRIS, in published work.  Tool/Resource Transition -- None.

Ratings/Long-term Prospects Comments:  Overall -- The graphic environment is completely user-friendly, allowing intuitive learning  Installation -- The current version works perfectly in   Long-term -- We are currently working in adapting the tool for neurosonography images and succeeding in tracing and rendering some structures. This tool has been so far the only one versatile enough for leting us do such improvements  Feature Requests -- Perhaps a "calibration menu" for those whose images are not DICOM and therefore have lost the metaimage information, in order to adjust the voxels value with "real" measures
Other Comments/Similar Tools:  Similar Tool/Resource -- MRIcro, 3D Slice, ImageJ 3D toolkit,   Tool/Resource Transition -- This tool is faster and more powerful, images rendering and voxels statistics are more reliable.

Step-by-step wizards lead you through segmentation.  Installation -- No problems at all on Win32.  Documentation -- Tutorial took only 30 minutes.   Long-term -- This is very professional segmentation software with a few tools. The interface and documentation are great. More segmentation algorithms should be implemented in SNAP.

Ratings/Long-term Prospects Comments:  Feature Requests -- The following two features are critical to our work: 1. A Spline editing tool (similar to the present Polygon tool). 2. Better mesh generation for non-uniform voxels with high aspect ratio, like 1 : 1 : 6.
Other Comments/Similar Tools:  Similar Tool/Resource -- Analyze  Tool/Resource Transition -- Had to implement features 1. and 2. described in "Feature Requests"
