Other Comments/Similar Tools: | This sw works great. I would suggest to add a parameter so that NODDI runs without any matlab interface. Currently if we run it in a cluster then we have to uncomment some lines that pop-up a process bar. |

Ratings/Long-term Prospects Comments: | 1. The tool is like a "dark box" and lacks clear documentation of what is being done; no clear manual of the processing choices by users and referring to papers is not helpful at all
2. Implementation is tedious as it requires another package developed by SPM folks to be compiled for nii data reading and this is not needed as there are simpler non-SPM dependent nii readers.
3. Run Time is a huge consideration as the tools do not provide a rapid mode to help users see the results,
parallel CPU is not an alternative as this requires a special toolbox.
4. Developers need to provide clear implementation and testing of requirements as far as Matlab version, speed and time to run
5. Standard DTI-based measures are not generated and it is not clear how the output really relate to conventional DTI measures,
also it is not clear what are the optimal or minimum re

The alternative or faster version of this toolbox is more tedious to implement using Python and so other dependencies. |
