Hi, Jeff. I am also wandering how to choose the bandpass for such task-related functional connectivity. Before until now we did not get answers from Conn-fMRI experts, I would recommend to use the way of Nature Neuroscience paper (Bassett, et al., 2015) which at least is more likely to be reliable and acceptable.
