Thanks for posting.
I'm certainly interested - I maintain the nibabel python image library, and we would very much like to be able to validate our conversions in this way - particularly for DICOM.
The MIDAS system has some DICOM datasets : http://www.insight-journal.org/midas/collection/view/192
The BIRN data license looks pretty locked to BIRN - is there any reason for that? I would much prefer a license that allowed flexible redistribution.
The Reproducible Research Standard suggests CC-0 for data :
