Thanks for this.
Do you plan to use BIRN data in particular? For example, if I upload some phantom data that I consider to be under a CC-0 license, would someone citing the data have to cite a corresponding BIRN accession number?

Matthew
Thanks!
Quick note: I am against license proliferation, so I try to use the most direct license that I can get past an IRB. We use BDR 1.0+ (1.0 or newer). The original 1.0 license (2005 - below) was much less restrictive than the 2007 one that you cited. We need the do-not-reidentify clause. Your link isn't working for me...does the CC-0 have an identify clause? I am open to whatever works best for the community. Since we haven't performed a data release, changing licenses is easy. Later it will be hard.
We are using svn to post data. If you (meaning anyone on this list) would like to help out / share data / etc., can you please "join" the NITRC project? We are in bug fixing mode now - so the data are not currently useful. Hopefully, we can have a validated version out by mid-summer.
Best,
Bennett
BIRN Data Sharing Policy
Version 1.0, November 2005Data will be openly shared and made available with no restrictions other than subject confidentiality.
Data users should cite data contributors and reference the corresponding BIRN accession number(s). To maintain the protection of human subjects, you agree not to attempt in any way to discover the identity of any of the human subjects.
THIS DATA PROVIDED IS FREELY DISTRIBUTED. THIS DATA IS PROVIDED BY THE CONTRIBUTORS "AS IS" IN THE HOPE THAT IT WILL BE USEFUL BUT WITHOUT ANY GUARANTEES OF ACCURACY OR APPLICABILITY FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
