You may want to look at the Tool "VV",
described in the Insight Journal paper:

(which includes the source code of the tool and data for testing it)

You will find in VV the functionalities for

(a) & (b)

(c) as 4D with vector fields

(d) with ellipses.

This tool is based on ITK, VTK and Qt.

It runs in Windows and Linux (I haven't tried in Mac, but don't see any reason why it would not run in Mac).


In addition to the source code, you will find a binary of the executable for Windows.
