This statement, by the way, I disagree with. At least in its generality. People's ethics can be quite flexible if they get something out of a deal. If there is some very useful resource with only slightly sketchy conditions attached, I bet many people would ignore the potential issues (or choose not to think about them too hard in the first place). The more useful the resource, in my opinion, the more sketchy the conditions you can get away with.

At this point I should probably remind everyone once again that I used SPM as a "fictional" example in this context. :)
