Modifications are of course not the issue, the issue is documenting
the code that was actually implicated in the analysis, so that it
can be reproduced reliably. Reproducibility, if we take it
seriously, requires more than simply knowing what distribution was
used.

The idea is you document
everything you do until you can pass the buck to someone
else.
I guess this is better than nothing, but I think only slightly, if
